Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1464

Chapter 1464: Who Is He

As the roars and screams of the gods died down, Atticus flicked the blood off his blade and calmly glanced around.

’It’s quiet.’

Headless and split corpses littered the ruined streets, yet Atticus wasn’t nearly disturbed by the scene.

He’d found out that the vastness of his will increased as his power increased. What was once a hundred meters had climbed to four hundred. But it wasn’t nearly enough to cover the entire city. It was hard to tell if there were still survivors and how many.

’I didn’t see the major faction gods.’

Though the gods had been numerous and the battle fast, Atticus was sure he hadn’t killed the three major faction gods he saw earlier.

’Where are they?’

He shot into the sky and swept his eyes around. Dust covered most parts of the city, but Atticus’ eyes pierced right through them.

’There. Enhance.’

He blurred forward in a streak of light and appeared high on top of a skyscraper.

There, three figures silently stood, staring at him with cold eyes.

Atticus landed gently.

"I must admit," the Redflame god, Lasnot, said, "I thought I knew everything about you, but oh was I wrong. You’re what the people of the middle planes call an anomaly. Hard to grasp. But do you know what happens to most anomalies in the middle planes?"

Lasnot swiped a finger across his neck.

"They’re killed. Do you know why? Because they’re stupid enough to try and fight against the order of the world. Stupidity must be punished, don’t you think?"

"What about the ones who survive?"

Lasnot raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t actually expected Atticus to respond.

’But what is that tone?’

Atticus had spoken in a monotone voice. He felt more like a machine than a man, and it made Lasnot uneasy.

’And his eyes too...’ it was like staring straight into a camera.

"Hm. You’re talking about the very few who managed to survive?"

Atticus nodded.

"They reach the peak."

Atticus slowly sheathed his katana.

"And what happens to those who stood in their way?"

Lasnot’s expression darkened. The Iron and Nature faction gods were no different. They could see where he was going with this.

"...they die."

"Fusion."

Atticus erased the distance and appeared in front of Lasnot, his dark crimson energy shooting into the skies.

His katana thrust forward in a flash.

Lasnot’s pulse jumped.

’Fast!’

His instincts kicked in as he roared,

"Flame shield ring!"

His will burst outward, rotating into a barrier-like ring in front of him.

’I’ll block him, then the others will attack and—’

His thoughts were cut short.

Atticus’ blade pierced straight through the flaming barrier and sank into his shoulder.

"Arrrrh!"

His flesh sizzled and burned, smoke curling into the air. Lasnot’s eyes shot wide as Atticus pushed through the flames, completely unharmed.

’How is he unharmed!?’

The barrier was made out of his compressed will burning at an insane temperature. That someone, no less a baron, had been able to pass through it unscathed was crazy. Unless...

’His flame is hotter than mine!’

A fire hotter than the Red Flames? Such thoughts were maddening, yet it occurred right in front of him.

"Ember step!"

As Atticus retracted his katana and brought it down on Lasnot, he flickered away, barely evading the strike.

"Iron Clamp!"

A hefty Iron god tackled Atticus from the side. He wrapped his arms around him, ready to crush him when he saw smoke rising followed by overwhelming pain.

’Hot!’

It felt like he was embracing molten iron. But the Iron faction members were nothing if not resilient.

’I have to hold on!’

"Ahhhhhhh!"

He closed in, intending to snap Atticus in two, when Atticus’ knee crashed into his chin.

A shockwave rippled through his skull, and he was sent shooting into the sky.

"Seed bolt!"

The Nature god’s will compressed into numerous seeds that shot towards Atticus like speeding bullets.

His katana flashed like lightning, meeting each seed in a burst of sparks. The eyes of the Nature god narrowed to slits as Atticus cut through everything.

He raised his arm, eyes flickering gold.

"Seed Bolt."

His burning will condensed into an incalculable number of blazing seeds and shot forward. The Nature god’s pulse jumped.

"Verdant Screen!"

A massive leaf burst from the ground, swirling around her, but her gaze trembled as the flaming seeds tore straight through and reached her.

"Leaf ste—"
