Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1514

Chapter 1514: Perceptive

Atticus truly wasn’t sure how he felt about the news.

That the Redflame main force had ascended wasn’t necessarily good news. While it made their time in the Count layer a bit easier, what about when they ascended to the Marquis layer?

They would have to deal with the combined might of two Redflame Marquis.

In every case, Atticus would’ve preferred handling them separately.

Still, he only let himself dwell on it for a few moments before shoving the thoughts aside and shifting his focus back to growing his territory.

It went without saying that watching the territory grow was one of the best feelings ever. From rough brick buildings to sleek houses with clean lines and gleaming mana glass. From bone clubs to weapons of mass destruction.

The entire territory transformed right before his eyes. Buildings rose to the sky, tower blocks threaded with mana conduits, floating platforms drifting between them, rune lit roads carving through the city like veins.

And the people... to him, the people had shown the most change. They went from whining little babies who cried for a place to shit to composed, regal men and women who wandered the streets with a pride that radiated off every inch of their bodies.

Though if there was one thing that didn’t change, it was the people’s love for their lord. There was never a moment he passed through the streets and people didn’t bow and cheer.

Atticus found it embarrassing, especially the insane things that came out of most of their mouths. But when giant statues of himself began to get erected all around the territory, he eventually got used to the worship.

Of course, the moment Ozeroth saw it, he immediately demanded one of his own.

For reasons completely unknown to Atticus, he somehow managed to convince the people, and his statues were built.

Ozerra demanded the same treatment, but she got shut down instantly. Adamant on not losing to Ozeroth, she went ahead and built one herself... only for it to get egged, toilet papered, and turned into a refuse dump moments later.

Atticus had to intervene personally before she rampaged. He explained the system to her; unless she accepted his request, the people wouldn’t accept her.

Using the excuse of granting her servant the "privilege" of subordinating her, she accepted. Moments later, multiple statues of her were erected, much to Ozeroth’s absolute disbelief.

Atticus quickly excused himself the moment they started their staring contest, before an argument, or a murder, broke out.

Whisker spent his days exactly as expected. Either wandering from bar to bar in search of "entertainment," or sitting somewhere with a drink while watching Ozeroth and Ozerra bicker like it was the greatest show in the world.

Magnus had dedicated himself to training relentlessly, pushing both his own strength and the army’s.

Atticus simply did what he did best, train. Except now, his nights had taken on a new... intensity.

With Anorah around, things were far more interesting. After experiencing it the first time, Atticus wanted nothing more than to turn back time.

One, of course to do it again. Two, to grab his past self by the throat and beat the crap out of him for not having sex sooner.

It was... divine. Atticus could barely find the right words to describe it. All he knew for certain was that it was one of the greatest things in the entire universe.

Aside from the incessant challenges from other Counts, the Count layer had been the best compared to the others. So good, in fact, that Atticus soon began having a bad feeling.

Since when did he feel this much peace? The universe unfortunately had never operated that way for him.

’I might be overthinking it. Let’s just enjoy the peace.’

Atticus told himself one night when he realized he was drifting away from Anorah’s words.

It was deep into the night, and they clung together tightly, sweat mixing, both slightly panting as they stared up at the night sky.
