Whisker waved it off with a chuckle. "Don’t worry. The universe doesn’t expect the world to be full of powerhouses. That’s not how it’s designed. Your world’s supposed to absorb most of the pressure, so what you’re feeling now, that’s the same pressure the masses will feel too."
Many of the Eldorians released a sigh of relief. But Oberon could only frown.
"What about when we leave the world?" he asked with a serious voice. If their world was currently taking the full brunt of the plane will, what would happen when they left?
"Then you’ll face the full force of the Plane Will," Whisker said casually. Then, after a pause, he added, "Usually, only those whose wills are at least Bulwark ranked in sturdiness can survive the lowest level of exposure."
"Bulwark?" Oberon and the Eldorians looked confused. It was the first time they’d heard the term.
"Yeah," Whisker said. "But you guys shouldn’t worry about that. You’re still too far off from that level." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The Eldorians’ expressions hardened as they heard his words. It was obvious there was some kind of new power system they didn’t know about yet. And from the looks of it, they were at the bottom of that scale.
Regardless, most of them couldn’t even help but clench their fists.
They had never felt the need to leave the world before, and most had never set foot outside of Eldoralth. Now they were hearing that stepping outside their own world might kill them. It left a bitter taste in their mouths.
Oberon quickly regained his composure and asked about another thing he’d noticed from Whisker’s words.
"You said ’handle the lowest pressure’?"
Whisker nodded. "The higher you ascend in the middle planes, the stronger the pressure gets. It’s like a tempering force. It can be beneficial to your will, but only if you’re strong enough to withstand it."
"So the plane will is a good thing..."
"It is," he said. "Withstanding it hardens your will over time."
The Eldorians entered a state of contemplation as they tried to comprehend the changes.
’He’s right,’ Oberon thought as he observed his reaction with the plane will.
As an Enigmalnk whose main source of strength had been centered on wills from the very beginning, his will could be considered higher than the others.
And he could feel even the minute changes from it. Currently, the plane will was clashing against his will.
It was heavy, but not too heavy that he couldn’t withstand. But what he was focused on was its effect, each clash very slightly hardened his will. It was akin to constant training.
Oberon felt thrilled. But he quickly realized that there was a need for a focus shift soon. Rather than other powers, right now, especially in the middle planes, will was the most important.
As Oberon and the others continued to ponder on the situation, a voice cut through their thoughts.
"Something’s going on with Bond."
It was Ozeorth who spoke, and his seriousness made them all snap toward Atticus.
Magnus and Avalon immediately stepped forward, about to approach Atticus, only to be stopped by Ozeorth, who shook his head seriously. He could feel a massive pressure brewing from him.
"It’s finally happening," Whisker said.
They sent confused glances his way. Ozeorth frowned. "What are you yapping about?"
