Chapter 571: Taking Hostage

"Why does it matter if we are leaving or not?" asked Bai Meiyue. She raised a brow and stared at the man in front of her before saying to him, "We are not obliged to answer the base as we never joined it. Anyway, even if we did, the protection that the base had offered is something that doesn’t deserve our loyalty."

"Well said." Old Master Bai, who had stepped out of his apartment, looked at Fox with a hint of annoyance. He said to him, "I believe that after this, not only we but many of the ability users will leave. It’s good to have ambitions, but when your ambitions surpass morality, nothing good will come out of it. How could Chief Yu stay put when the lives of so many people were in danger? She didn’t even send a single soldier to help Bai Meiyue fend off those bugs; Old Master Bai couldn’t help but feel speechless at her actions. She could have used some other tactics if she wanted to win Bai Meiyue over to her side, but she chose the most drastic one.

"That’s right, we cannot stay here any longer!" Yang Chunhua agreed with Old Master Bai, and so did the rest of the ability users who were taking treatment in the hospital.

Earlier, they were confused.
