“What are you waiting for? This is your inheritance we’re talking about. Or are you really okay with watching your dad hand everything over to Deborah and Kevin?”
Jordan didn’t answer. Deep down, he knew his wife was right.
The office phone rang. Jordan hit the speaker button, and Malvina’s voice came through, loud and clear. “Jordan, Mandy’s here again. The front desk stopped her, but she’s making a scene downstairs and insists on seeing you.”
“I got it. Wait for my call,” Jordan replied, his tone ice-cold. He hung up without another word.
Natalie turned to him. “She’s probably here to bring you something again. You should just see her. I’ll go first. And don’t forget, she’s our pawn. If we don’t use her, everything we’ve done so far goes down the drain.”
She got up to leave. “I’ll avoid running into her. Once I’m in the elevator, call the front desk and let her up.”
If Malvina wanted to take her place, throwing Mandy into the mix would make things interesting. Let them fight it out.
Natalie’s mind was crystal clear at that moment. No matter how hard she tried or how much she did, she couldn’t stop Jordan from cheating. She was about to sleep with Ethan anyway, so why pretend anymore? If they were both going to mess around, then let them. Jordan and Malvina had already crossed almost every line. In Natalie’s eyes, her husband was already unfaithful. If he hooked up with another woman, she didn’t care anymore.
Jordan stood to walk her out, but Natalie waved him off. “Don’t bother. Call the front desk and let Mandy up.”
