After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 515

Deborah sat there, looking completely satisfied with herself, as if she’d already won and Cynthia had lost. In her mind, there was no point arguing with someone she thought was already defeated.

“Cynthia, do you really not regret any of this?” Deborah asked, her voice carrying just a hint of curiosity.

Cynthia gave a small shrug. “There’s nothing to regret. Jackson doesn’t love me anymore. We’re ending things peacefully, and at least we can keep a bit of good feeling between us.”

“Once our divorce is final, you can marry into the Lane family. You and your son will finally get to live your lives out in the open. It’s obvious Jackson cares a lot about your boy.”

Deborah’s pride was clear the moment her son came up. “Kevin’s smart and really well-behaved. Jackson absolutely adores him. He’s always saying how much Kevin takes after him in every way.”

“Whenever Jackson has free time, he’s with Kevin. He likes to say that out of all his kids, Kevin gets the most of his attention and love.”

Cynthia couldn’t help but laugh to herself, just a little, at Deborah’s words.

She and Jackson never had kids together. Isabella, Jackson’s daughter from his first marriage, was grown and married now. Cynthia figured she’d take whatever settlement she got, finalize the divorce, and just enjoy a quiet life from here on out.

Really, it was Jackson’s first wife who had it the worst. She died young, left behind a son, and Jackson barely gave Jordan any attention. Then, on top of that, he raised a secret son who’d end up splitting the inheritance with Jordan.
