After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 11

Isabella Lane stepped out of the car.

She watched the two of them walk away, that familiar cold smile tugging at her lips. Natalie Gates always acted like she cared, always telling people she treated Isabella like her own sister. But it was all just for show. Isabella hadn’t even gotten out of the car before Natalie had already grabbed Ethan and gone ahead, leaving her behind like she didn’t matter. Did they ever stop to think about how she might feel?

Natalie was sending a message, clear as day. Even though Isabella had married Ethan, the only person he would ever truly care about was Natalie Gates.

“Isabella, let’s go.”

The bodyguards were already unloading the gifts from the car, reminding Isabella that she couldn’t just stand there forever.

She kept quiet, walking forward in silence.

By the time she reached the main entrance, Ethan finally seemed to remember her existence. He stopped, turned around, and saw Isabella trailing behind with the four bodyguards. He frowned. Was she moving in slow motion or something?

Natalie stopped too, following his gaze. “Why is Isabella walking so slow? Do you think she’s mad we didn’t wait for her?”

“Or maybe she’s upset you walked with me.” Natalie said it lightly, but she was watching Ethan’s face closely for any sign of a reaction.

She knew both men had feelings for her, but she’d always liked Jordan Lane more. That’s why she chose him. Ethan could be cold, and even when he was gentle, Natalie always felt Jordan’s warmth suited her better. After she married Jordan, Ethan suddenly started chasing Isabella, showering her with flowers and gifts, making it look easy.

Natalie never believed Ethan actually loved Isabella. She figured he was just jealous, trying to get back at her by going after Isabella. Then, out of nowhere, he married Isabella in a wedding even grander than hers with Jordan. The jealousy twisted inside her.
