Elena paused, her throat raw from speaking. She took a glass of water from a bodyguard, drank deeply, and then continued her assault.
"The facts are right in front of you. You saw that Yvonne was pregnant with Julius's child, which meant Liam and Joy were no longer the only Aurelius heirs. You were afraid Yvonne's baby would threaten their position, so you decided to kill her. You faked that little video and sent it to Damaris, getting someone else to do your dirty work. You must have known exactly what kind of person Damaris is. Once she made her move, what chance would Yvonne and the baby have? Killing two birds with one stone. What a venomous mind you have."
Hearing this, Janina couldn't help but let out a laugh. Elena delivered this twisted logic with such conviction.
She wasn't angry in the slightest. Her voice was calm and detached as she retorted, "What are Liam and Joy's last names? Have I ever come to the Aurelius family asking for child support? Have I ever bothered your son?"
A small smile played on Janina's lips as she looked at Elena. "I have a wonderful family, where every single person treats me like a treasure. Who gives a damn about your family's crap? I can't get away from you people fast enough. I'd count my blessings if you would just stop bothering me. Don't think your family is some great prize I should be fawning over. In my eyes, the Aurelius family isn't even worth a damn. Your very presence just makes me sick."
Janina coolly turned her back, spotting an SUV pulling up outside. Perfect. Her backup had arrived.
She turned back to face the flushed, furious faces of Elena and Julius.
"You don't believe a word I say. You ignore all the evidence of Yvonne's schemes against me. Fine. Today, let's have the police witness this evidence and see who the real victim is."
As Janina finished, Elena finally sensed something was wrong. Her head snapped up, looking outside. A police car had parked right at the gate, and several uniformed officers were getting out. Behind the police car was an SUV, and trailing the officers were several women—Janina's best friends.
"You called the police?" Elena shrieked, pointing a trembling finger at Janina, her face contorted with rage.
