Janina almost laughed in his face.
What did he mean, *she* had to be like this?
Weren't they the ones who kept making things difficult for her?
Yes, she admitted, Julius hadn't directly given her trouble. But every conflict between her and Yvonne was started by Yvonne.
And he always took Yvonne's side.
They were partners in crime.
"Use your brain and think for a second. Am I the one making things difficult for you? Every time I run into Yvonne, she ends up playing the victim, and you come and blame me for it. Tell me, how am I supposed to talk to you nicely? You and Yvonne are my enemies. I want nothing to do with either of you. Now get out."
As she finished, Janina shot him a look, her disgust written all over her face.
Provoked, Julius grew angry, a sharp glint in his cold eyes.
He had already humbled himself, already softened his approach. Why did Janina still have to treat him this way?
He couldn't understand how the person who once loved him to the bone could suddenly turn into someone else entirely.
He was about to say more when a nurse pushed a medical cart into the room. "Quiet in here. The patient needs her IV drip. All visitors, please step out."
Since Julius had his back to the nurse's station, she hadn't seen his face.
She had only spoken up because she could hear the man's raised voice from a distance.
Seeing how determined Janina was, Julius knew he couldn't press the issue. He figured he would come back tomorrow and try to talk to her again.
"Alright. You get some rest. I'll come see you tomorrow."
He turned and walked out of the room.
When the nurse finally saw his handsome face, she wished she could swallow her words.
How could she have snapped at such a good-looking man?
