This guy!
The two of them walked back to the main group, laughing and talking.
After having lunch on the mountain, they rested for a while.
Just then, one of the managers suggested they play a game before heading down.
A collective groan went through the group. No one wanted to play a game. After hiking for over four hours, who had the energy for games?
Seeing the lack of enthusiasm, the manager dangled a carrot.
"I know everyone's tired, but games help build team spirit. It's about participation, not winning or losing. After the game, the company will treat everyone to a cable car ride down."
The moment he finished speaking, the mood shifted.
Everyone lit up with excitement. They had all assumed they'd have to walk back the way they came.
Everyone knew hiking up was bad enough, but the hike back down could be even worse. If they really had to hike down, there would definitely be a lot of employees calling in sick on Monday.
"Okay, what's the game? I'm in!" one employee shouted, raising his hand.
A wave of hushed chatter followed.
"After the game, we'll head down, rest at the hotel for a bit, and we can even have a barbecue tonight."
"You know, the company is actually pretty decent. They're thoughtful enough to spring for the cable car for us."
"Next time, they should make the boss come on one of these hikes. He's probably at home enjoying his air conditioning while we're out here sweating our butts off."
"Keep your voice down. If a manager hears you, you'll get another lecture."
After a brief discussion, the managers decided on a game of "The Fox and the Hens."
Everyone almost rolled their eyes.
So childish, they thought.
But no one dared to object. A manager's word was law, so everyone just went along with it.
About twenty meters down from the summit, there was a large, open clearing. In the spring, people often flew kites there.
The group gathered in the clearing, ready to play.
They were divided into three teams.
