Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 231

"Marjorie, it's Clark. Can you pick me up at the bus station?" Clark's anxious voice came through the phone.

After all this time, hearing Clark's voice again left Marjorie feeling dazed.

He'd been missing for so long. What was the meaning of him showing up now?

Just when she had decided to move on, Clark suddenly showed up again. Marjorie didn't know whether to feel happy or sad.

But regardless, the fact that he was calling her meant she still held an important place in his heart.

Thinking of this, the humiliation and resentment she felt from her encounter with West began to fade.

Marjorie went to the bus station to pick up Clark, and the moment she saw him, she froze on the spot.

It had only been about twenty days, but Clark was completely transformed.

His hair was long and looked like it hadn't been washed in ages, with greasy strands covering half of his face. He had a scruffy beard, and his clothes were filthy. His white sneakers were stained completely black.

Not only that, but he had also gained a significant amount of weight.

The countless questions in Marjorie's mind vanished the moment she saw him. She glanced around and noticed people staring at them, their eyes full of judgment, as if looking at some kind of freak.

Clark looked no different from a homeless man sleeping on the street. It was utterly humiliating.

Marjorie quickly ushered Clark into the car.

She didn't want to take him home, but Clark explained he had run away and had nowhere else to go.

With no other choice, Marjorie called Abigail. Only after getting her mother's permission did she bring Clark back to Crystal Springs.

She avoided the main entrance, taking him up through the underground garage. Even then, she was afraid of running into an acquaintance in the elevator.

Marjorie lied to Clark, saying the elevator was broken, and they took the stairs back to their apartment.
