A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 717

Starla gave them until sunset to pack their things and get out.

As she thumbed through the towering stacks of signed documents, verifying the deeds, the corporate handovers, and the bank transfers, she realized something was missing.

"Where are the divorce papers?" she asked, glancing between Yvette and Gabriel.

She had seized the empire and drained the accounts. That was the finale. So where was the final signature severing her from Fairfax?

At the mention of the divorce, Yvette blinked in surprise. She genuinely hadn't noticed its absence.

She looked at Gabriel.

Gabriel shook his head. "Mr. Yelchin didn't provide them."

Starla froze.

Garret stood perfectly still.

The air in the room instantly dropped ten degrees.

"What do you mean, he didn't provide them?" Starla demanded.

This was the entire point of the war. How could he forget the most important document?

"I don't know, ma'am," Gabriel replied smoothly.

'I don't know.'

Those three words sent a spike of fury through Starla. She pointed a sharp finger at him, ready to tear into him, but Gabriel merely bowed his head respectfully.

"We've delivered everything Mr. Yelchin instructed us to. Our business here is done."

With that, he turned on his heel and walked out.

Seeing him leave, Yvette hastily gathered her remaining folders and hurried after him.

Starla and Garret were left alone in the grand office. Starla's hands curled into tight fists.

"What kind of sick game is he playing?"
