"Daddy!"
Sandy rushed into the hospital room, holding onto Caelum's hand tightly.
In her memory, her dad had always been a stern, grumpy old man. Despite his age, he had always been robust and healthy.
He didn't have this headful of white hair, and he was always full of energy.
But after falling ill suddenly, his body had become much thinner than before, and his hair almost completely white.
Kiran stood behind Sandy, watching his sister holding their dad's hand and crying; a subtle shade of sorrow gradually painted over his face.
This illness wasn't something that had developed overnight, so for a long time, their dad had been grooming him. But ever since he found out about Kiran's intentions, he would rather erase this son from his plans for the Pollard family's future than see him join The Silent Shadows.
He had known this day would come.
But Sandy didn't know.
And their dad didn't want Sandy to find out.
As Sandy looked at Caelum lying on the hospital bed, suddenly, she felt her dad's hand seemed to move slightly.
But it was just that - a slight movement.
Sandy's crying stopped abruptly, she froze for a moment, then turned to Kiran behind her, excitedly saying, "Brother! Did you see that? Daddy he moved...uh!"
Before Sandy could finish, Kiran immediately covered her mouth.
Sandy looked at her brother in front of her, puzzled.
Kiran silenced Sandy with his eyes, gently shaking his head.
Sandy then understood what her brother meant; she immediately nodded, indicating she wouldn't speak recklessly in the hospital room.
