Overseas, in the intensive care unit.
Sandy had just received the news and hurried to the downtown hospital's ICU.
A bodyguard stopped Sandy, saying, "Miss, Mr. Angelo has ordered that no one is to approach the ward and disturb the gentleman's rest."
With a sharp slap, Sandy struck the man. Given the disparity in their statuses, the bodyguard dared not make a sound.
Tears welled in Sandy's eyes, her expression shadowed by a gloom previously unseen: "He's my father! By what right are you keeping me from him? Move aside!"
"Miss, as Mr. Angelo ordered, no one is to approach. Please don't make this difficult for us."
Though the bodyguard dared not physically stop Sandy, no one there would dare lay a hand on her.
Everyone knew that Miss Pollard was Mr. Angelo's most beloved sister.
None had ever crossed the young lady and escaped Mr. Angelo's wrath unscathed.
"I don't care! Move aside now, or I'll have my brother flay you and draw your tendons! Let’s see if you dare stop me then!"
Sandy's words sent chills down the bodyguard's spine.
Perhaps Sandy was merely speaking in anger, but Kiran was indeed capable of such actions.
"What's going on here?"
Kiran's voice suddenly pierced the tense atmosphere.
Hearing Kiran's voice, the bodyguard immediately bowed his head: "Mr. Angelo!"
"Didn't I tell you not to let anyone near the ward?"
A hint of danger laced Kiran's tone.
