Snowflakes drifted softly as Reece popped open an umbrella, doing his best to shield Sophie from the biting wind. Once they were in the car, Sophie just leaned against the window, lost in her thoughts.
Over at the White family estate, Colby was slumped on the couch, not saying a word. Adler and Jenna had been blowing up his phone all day, but he didn't bother to answer. As the evening shadows crept in, Jenna couldn't take it anymore and barged through the front door.
"Colby! You jerk!" she yelled, landing a punch on his cheek. "Why aren't you picking up our calls? What's going on? Don't you dare say you don't know! Adler and I rushed over from Devonport, and we're not here for excuses!"
"Jenna, chill out…” Colby tried to interject.
"Chill out? Seriously?" Jenna shot back, eyes blazing. "Don't think I don't know. You knew all about his illness!"
“I... I really thought he was better…” Colby stammered.
Adler just stood there, silent, not daring to utter a word in the face of Jenna’s fury. Jenna turned her attention back to Colby, saying, “I’ve always thought of myself as your sister, maybe not by blood, but as part of the Costello family. How could you keep something so huge from me? And hiding it from Sophie? Do you have any idea what kind of chaos this could cause? Forget the business, your whole relationship could be at stake…”
“She’s gone,” Colby cut in, opening his hand to reveal a blood-stained ring. “She left with Reece.”
