Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1335

Claire was backstage getting a quick touch-up on her makeup when she heard a ruckus outside. She frowned and asked, "What's going on at the entrance?"

"Ms. Claire, it looks like the reporters have all headed next door."

"Next door?"

Claire stood up and glanced over the venue. Sure enough, only a few cameramen were left, and the entertainment reporters had all vanished.

"Where did everyone go? Why'd they suddenly rush next door?"

Claire's tone had a hint of reproach. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was just five minutes away. If Sophie had managed to lure everyone away with some clever trick, their event would be empty.

"James! Where's James?"

Claire could barely keep her temper in check as she searched for him, but James was nowhere to be seen. With such a mess on their hands, where could he have gone? If there were no reporters for the ceremony, their decision to launch the company today would be pointless.

"Ms. Claire! I found out what's going on. Apparently, Sophie managed to get some big names from the news world to show up, and the entertainment reporters caught wind and dashed over there!"

"What? Sophie had this all planned?"

Claire was caught off guard. She figured Sophie would be overwhelmed by the whole real and fake heiress drama. But Sophie's calm demeanor suggested she wasn't fazed at all. Maybe those rumors about her being sick at the Burke Estate were just a front.

As Claire mulled this over, James came down the stairs. The moment she saw him, Claire rushed over. "Why are you just coming down now? Do you know what Sophie's done..."
