“Drones aren’t cheap. I’ll pull their bank records,” Stephen said. “Christian’s too. I’ll find out the truth for you.”

Chapter 186
Christian snapped angrily, “Why are you sucking up to Abigail and dragging me into this? I told you, I wouldn’t do such a thing.”
“I don’t believe you. I’m going to investigate you,” Stephen replied.
Abigail stared coldly at Christian for a while before saying in a frigid tone, “You’d better pray that Orange’s death truly had nothing to do with you.”
Stephen frowned, knowing Sebastian’s personality–whoever killed Sebastian’s cat would definitely face terrifying retribution.
Christian scoffed, “It’s just a cat. You’re talking like it was some sacred being-”
“You’re the ones acting like beasts,” Abigail cut him off. “How dare you say such things? You think you’re nobler than a cat?”
She continued, “You’re just lucky to be born human. That’s the only reason you get to sneer at an innocent animal that did nothing but end up poisoned to death.”
Christian was enraged, looking like he was ready to strike her. Stephen pointed at his face and warned, “You dare hit her again? She wouldn’t say any of this if you hadn’t been spewing all that garbage.”
“So now everything she says is right, and I’m trash?” Christian retorted. “Stephen, are you out of your mind? You regret the way you treated her, and now you think treating us like shit is going to make up for it?”
Christian grew angrier seeing Stephen side with Abigail, and it didn’t help that Stephen had grown even colder toward Daniella.
“I have no regrets,” Stephen shot back. “Abby is honest. Daniella is full of lies. She could’ve gotten along just fine with Abigail–but I believe she killed Sebastian’s cat.”
“Bullshit! Do you have proof?” Christian retorted anxiously. “You know Sebastian always gets revenge. You’re just slandering Dani to suck up to Abigail!”
“Slandering?” Stephen replied. “Sebastian had that cat for three years. It was perfectly fine until Abby moved in. Just a few days later, the cat is dead?”
He said, “I bet Daniella got jealous of Abigail being close to Sebastian and killed the cat, hoping to drive them apart. I know she’s capable of that.”
Stephen and Christian were at each other’s throats. Abigail, listening from the side, suddenly felt it was all too possible.
Even if it wasn’t because of Sebastian, Daniella might’ve done it just because she couldn’t stand Abigail. Ever since Abigail returned to the Gibson family, Daniella had tried every way possible to torment her.
Ralph didn’t like Daniella, and Sebastian outright despised her. Now that even the Gibson family didn’t want her anymore, she’d definitely want
revenge.
Christian sneered, “Look at how you talk about her now. Back then, you treated her like a treasure.”
Before Stephen could speak, Christian continued, “Let me guess–you’re going to say she tricked you, right? It’s always someone else’s fault.”
}
He said, “Now you’re suddenly defending Abigail because Ralph favors her, Sebastian protects her, and even Sebastian’s two friends care about her. You’re just a greedy opportunist.”
