Chapter 180
Chapter 180
Her outburst stunned Bianca into silence.
“Is kneeling all you’re good at? Do you think kneeling will make me surrender out of guilt?” Abigail was thoroughly disgusted.
She went on, “What I hate most are people like you and Daniella. Other than crying and playing the victim, what else can you do? Can you do something–anything–that worries me less?”
Seeing she was furious, Wyatt immediately stepped forward to comfort her. “Abby, don’t bother with her. I’ll bring you another copy of the contract tomorrow morning. For now, just rest at Sebastian’s house or go back to your room–whatever feels right.”
Daniella heard every word clearly. She thought, Abigail’s staying at Sebastian’s place? Have they already confirmed their relationship? Daniella could not accept it.
Abigail said, “I truly loathe your begging. The more you beg, the more I wish for Daniella to meet a terrible end.”
Abigail continued, “I don’t understand–shouldn’t Daniella be punished for the awful things she did? Did I cause her downfall? Since I returned to the Gibson family, have I ever hurt her?”
“It was she who kept trying to ruin me. So what now? After she sent me to jail and made everyone hate me, she still thinks she’s the one who’s been wronged?” she added.
Bianca said, “Abby-
“Don’t call me that! It makes my skin crawl.” Abigail was livid. She felt absolutely no sympathy for Bianca’s tearful pleading.
“She did all those horrible things to me because she had your support. Do you really think your hands are clean?”
Abigail stared at her coldly, her voice turning even icier. “I honestly don’t get it. How can you people be so shameless–always finding ways to excuse a murderer? Again and again?
“If you really loved her, you’d make her take responsibility for her actions and become a decent human being–instead of enabling her to keep doing those cruel, idiotic things.
“She’s over twenty already and still doesn’t know right from wrong? And you, a woman in your forties, still so shameless? If you can’t raise a child properly, why did you bring her home in the first place?”
Finishing her scold, Abigail turned and walked away.
Bianca was left speechless, her face burning with shame as Gabriel and Wyatt both looked at her with mocking expressions.
Stephen ignored her and quickly followed after Abigail, saying, “Let me drive you.”
“Stay away from me. All of you–except for Grandpa–stay the hell away from me.” Abigail stopped in her tracks and shot him a fierce glare.
Stephen felt a stab of pain in his chest.
Abigail left Gibson Villa and returned to Sebastian’s house. As soon as she entered, all the kittens ran over to greet her. Abigail crouched down, stretching out her hand to pet them.
“I just got back to deal with something. I’ll come visit you guys right after work from now on, okay?” Abigail said gently while pulling out the cat teaser toys she had just bought.
That whole scene earlier had made her lose her appetite for dinner.
Once inside, Abigail threw out the rest of the cat toys, and the kittens excitedly started chasing them around.
She set down the toy stick and went to the fridge to look for food, but unfortunately, there was only raw meat inside.
Abigail felt low and unmotivated. She really didn’t want to cook. After hesitating a while, she still ended up taking ingredients out of the fridge, frowning as she tried to decide what to make.
She was really hungry today, and pasta alone wouldn’t be enough. The problem was, there was no delivery service available here either. Sebastian had warned her before–if she didn’t want to cook, she should eat before coming home.
While washing the vegetables, Abigail’s phone rang. Seeing that it was Sebastian, she couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Did Stephen tell him what happened?‘ She picked up the call and asked, “What is it?”
“Are you cooking?” Sebastian asked directly.
