“…Did… you bring her back here for investigation purposes or…?” muttered Nathan who didn’t dare finish his sentence.

Even so, Zivon could tell what Nathan was thinking, and his expression instantly soured a little. The truth was, he had only captured Xavia since he wanted to find out what she was up to. Even he was surprised by that kiss earlier, though… It made him even more curious.

After all, as far as he remembered, she used to be deathly afraid of Jenna finding out about their relationship. From what she had just done, however, it almost seemed like she was trying to piss Jenna off. Shaking the thought off, Zivon then icily replied, “…It was part of the investigation process.”

…Whatever the Young Master said. Naturally, Nathan wasn’t about to believe that!

Fast forward to sometime later, Xavia—who spent most of her day taking care of Maison—learned that ever since she left, Maison had eaten and played less. Hell, he had even shut himself indoors all the time, going so far as to ignore Zivon at times!

As it turned out, Zivon had only told her to come over to mend relationships with the child, and to ensure that his condition wouldn’t relapse… Still, knowing all this made Xavia feel simultaneously guilty and remorseful. After all, her actions were causing the child to suffer… Sadly, she knew that she still needed to use the child.

After giving it some thought, Xavia was prompted to say, “…Allow me to stay in the mansion with Maison for the next two days, Young Master Burton.”

While she really did want to take care of the child, she also needed Maison’s help to get her phone back…

To her dismay, Zivon simply replied, “He’s just enrolled in the elite World Children Organization’s language and math class, so he’s heading to school tomorrow.”

That was the one condition Zivon had to allow Maison to come over. Before Xavia could retort, Maison quickly added, “Don’t worry about me, Aunt! I’m just glad to see you and Daddy getting along again! That aside, I’ll definitely study hard so that I can be a more useful person in the future! I’ll be sure to protect you with all my knowledge then!”
