“You’re too kind, sister. I like to learn new recipes and I feel happy when the people I love eat the food I make. What do you think?” Jenna's tone was overly bright and she was gesturing animatedly as if she was really excited.

Xavia realized that Jenna was trying to brag, and smiled slightly. There was nothing between her and Zivon, so she did not care if her sister wanted to flaunt and show off in front of her. “Mm, brother-in-law is indeed blessed to be able to find a good and kind woman like you, sister.”

Jenna did not expect such a response from Xavia, and her pretty features twisted slightly in anger. She didn't respond, looking peeved.

On the contrary, when Zivon heard Xavia’s words, his signature cold aura became even colder. Brother-in-law? Hadn’t she learnt her lesson after he bit her lip the other night?

Was she really that anxious for him to become her brother-in-law?!

“Well, I won't bother you guys anymore. I have an appointment today so I will be taking half the day off. Maison, you have to be a good boy, okay?” Xavia turned around to leave as soon as she was done speaking; she had no intention of being a third wheel any longer.

Zivon looked at her sharply and asked, “You have an appointment? Are you going to meet Stefan Talton?”

“How did you know?” Xavia was surprised. She had agreed to meet Stefan previously but she only remembered it when he sent her a text message this morning. She was really letting her benefactor down.

When Zivon saw Xavia’s delight and surprise, as if she was excited to meet Stefan, his eyes turned as cold as frost. “You are not allowed to go. I do not have time to take care of Maison today.”

Maison immediately piped up, “It’s no problem, I'm fine by myself!”

Zivon gritted his teeth, speechless. The little brat! Why was he never this obedient and self-reliant in the past?!

When Xavia saw that she had been given an opportunity to leave, she quickly remarked, “Maison, you’re such a good boy!”

Before anyone could say anything else, she rushed out. She could clearly see the unhappiness and dissatisfaction on that man’s face, and only a fool would stay back and get criticized! Xavia hurried off to hail a taxi.

Damn it, was she really that impatient to see Stefan? Zivon’s expression sank slightly as he thought about it.

Jenna, on the other hand, did not expect that Xavia would be involved with someone as outstanding as Stefan. Her sister was nothing more than a hillbilly, so how had she landed such a catch?
