The second Xavia picked up, she heard Keith’s gentle voice ask, “Xavia? What time will your plane be arriving? I’ll pick you up at the airport.”
Squeezing her cell phone tightly, Xavia eventually replied, “…My flight was scheduled at two, and I was supposed to touch down at six in the evening today… However, Maison got kidnapped before I got to board the plane, so I went looking for him and ended up getting slightly injured… I’m currently in a hospital…”
Xavia made sure to choose her words carefully, stating only the most general events. Naturally, she was trying her hardest not to even mention Zivon’s name.
Regardless, Keith instantly asked in a concerned tone, “…Injured? Is it serious? Send me the hospital you’re currently at. I’ll fly over immediately.”
“T-there’s no need for that! I just had some glass stabbed into my back… It’s nothing major, and the inflammation should heal in about two days… You really don’t have to come over, especially since you’re busy with the green space project… Just concentrate on your work for now, and make sure not to let Madam and Grandma down… Don’t worry, I’ll be back as soon as the wound is healed…” explained Xavia in a serious tone.
Thankfully, Keith was fine with that explanation, and his anxiousness slowly faded. After thinking a bit longer, he was prompted to say, “…Your sister is there as well, right? I’ll get her to take good care of you. For now, rest up and just call me if you need anything…”
While he had said that, the truth was, he wanted Jenna to be by her side since she’d be able to prevent Xavia from meeting up with Zivon then.
Either way, Xavia knew that there wasn’t much else to say, so she soon found herself heaving a sigh of relief right after she hung up… Thankfully, she was able to prevent Keith from having another terrifying relapse…
Her train of thought was cut short when her stomach suddenly growled! Then again, it made sense since she hadn’t eaten anything since last night…
Turning to look at the now seated Zivon, she couldn’t help but notice that the dignified man had his legs crossed, and he seemed to be staring rather condescendingly at her as well… Strange… How had she offended him this time…?
Not wanting to think too hard about it, Xavia then asked, “…What did you get for breakfast? It smells really nice…”
Zivon, however, gave no response. Instead, he simply stared straight into her eyes, almost as though he wanted to see right through her…
Feeling chills running down her back, Xavia was prompted to ask, “W-what’s wrong…?”
She had just awoken and he knew it. What could she have done wrong…?
