“She grew up in the countryside, so ever since she was young, she’s been resentful of my parents and I. She's trying to prove herself and destroy my reputation at the same time, and that's why she's been having such malicious thoughts. She—”
“Heh.” Zivon chuckled, his lips curving into a mocking smile.
Jenna felt a terrifying aura emit from the man, and her skin prickled in fear.
Before she could figure out what he was laughing at, Zivon turned around. His eyes were glacial as he stared at her and said curtly, “I was the one who gave her the inspiration for the hotpot city.”
The room went dead silent.
Jenna was completely taken aback.
What?
Zivon was the one who told Xavia about the design for the hotpot city?!
So Jenna had just been making a fool of herself during her speech earlier—she had been caught framing Xavia!
Zivon took a step forward, a cold smile on his lips. “I told her I would help clear up the misunderstanding and prove her innocence, but do you know what she said?”
Jenna shook her head and replied in a shaky voice, “I don’t…”
Zivon sneered, “She said that even if I can prove that the design belongs to her, Grandma might not choose her. In fact, Grandma might hate her even more. Xavia did not want to make things difficult for everyone, so she didn't argue.”
Zivon eyed Jenna in disgust. “She has never once said a bad thing about you… but can you say the same about yourself?”
Jenna had just said that Xavia was resentful and malicious, but Xavia was the complete opposite!
In the end, it was obvious who was truly malicious here!
Jenna stood there, stunned. Her dignity and pride had been destroyed in a matter of seconds, and any attempt at an explanation would only make things worse.
Zivon clearly had no desire to be around her, and just entered the bathroom briskly.
Outside the door.
Ava had overheard the conversation inside, and was shocked.
Zivon was the one who had told Xavia about the idea? Xavia was the one who came up with the design?
That meant the person who had copied the design was Jenna… the very same Jenna she had always liked and trusted!
On the other hand, that Xavia that she had always loathed had actually analyzed the situation correctly and left willingly, choosing to not hold the false accusations against anyone.
Ava frowned, looking troubled.
