...How was she even supposed to answer that?! She wasn’t even in a relationship with him, so they shouldn’t be doing such things in the first place! Why did he think kissing her was normal anyway?! With how calm the man appeared and how genuine his surprise seemed to be, Xavia could tell that Zivon wasn’t on the same page as her at all…
Looking at the silent woman, Zivon then gently caressed her waist before adding, “Xavia, do you understand what it means to give a man a pair of boxers…?”
Xavia didn’t even need to think hard about that one. It meant that she wanted to take them off him later…! But that wasn’t her intent!
Now as red as a tomato, the flustered girl quickly calmed herself before replying, “I…! No, you see, I just bought them since I figured your boxers would be drenched after being in the rain for so long yesterday…! That aside, I know you’re a germaphobe, so I told the salesgirl to get a pair for you to lessen your discomfort…!”
Despite Xavia’s attempt to sound indifferent, Zivon simply raised a slight brow as he asked, “…And… in the process you told her that you’re my girlfriend…?”
“S-she was the one who misunderstood! I was just about to explain myself when you came over! I swear that that wasn’t my intention! You’re already married to Jenna, so there’s no way I could’ve said something like that…!” exclaimed Xavia in a slightly louder voice.
“…What about what happened back in the room? Did you not accept my kiss?” replied Zivon whose expression had turned slightly wry by this point.
“…Accept? You were the one who pulled me over and gave me that domineering kiss…” muttered Xavia.
…So she was saying that she had been forced to do that? The thought of that alone instantly caused his tenderness to vanish, replaced instead with an icy coldness… To think that he had consistently been misunderstanding her for almost half a day now…!
Nothing had changed.
After an awkward silence, Zivon finally released her before saying, “Get out.”
Before Xavia could reply, Zivon had already slipped his jacket on—completely ignoring the pain of his wound—before walking out, appearing as indifferent as ever…
This left Xavia momentarily stunned. All of a sudden, he was exuding his frigid aura again, and for some reason, it caused her heart to throb… What on earth was wrong with her? Where was this discomfort even coming from…?
