Now feeling incredibly embarrassed, Xavia found herself at a loss for words…
After staring at her for a bit, Zivon eventually said in a soft tone, “…Did you misunderstand because I didn’t step up to back you up at that moment?”
…He had read her mind! Now anxious, she quickly replied, “No, no, that wasn’t what I was thinking…! Honest…!”
…That was clearly a lie. Smiling subtly, Zivon then said, “If I had backed you up without any evidence, they’d surely have misunderstood you further. I figured you didn’t want to get even more hated than you already were at the time, so I headed off to get evidence. That aside, now that I know you prefer getting defended right off the bat, I’ll know how to act in the future…”
Upon hearing that, Xavia couldn’t help but feel slightly touched. However, her mind couldn’t help but replay his final sentence. ‘I’ll know how to act in the future’… The way he said it almost made him sound like he was her boyfriend, or that their relationship was just that special to him…
Now as red as a beet, the anxious girl quickly replied, “I… No, that’s not what I mean… Umm… E-Either way, thank you for helping me so much… I really appreciate that you’re standing up for justice, Young Master Burton…”
Though she was being all meek, Xavia made sure to include the word, justice, to ensure that distance remained between them. Naturally, Zivon caught on, and this prompted him to frown as he asked, “…Do you really think I only helped you to serve justice?”
“…Yes?” replied Xavia. She, for one, had already seen him sleeping with Jenna the other night. That aside, they had also discussed their baby’s name earlier. With that in mind, why else would he have saved her?
By this point, Zivon was really tempted to strangle her to death. Feeling slightly irked by how oblivious she was being, he then got closer to her before giving her a kiss!
His kiss was simultaneously dominating and punishing, and after their lips parted, he was prompted to growl, “Think carefully. What’s the reason I could’ve done all this?”
With how aggressive Zivon had been, Xavia’s lips honestly hurt a little at the moment. Even so, she was too filled with self-hatred to care. After all, she knew she had to stay away from him, yet every time she attempted to worm away, he’d simply have his way again…!
