She was drenched from head to toe, which explained why Xavia was shivering this badly.

Now frowning, Zivon softly called out, “…Xavia?”

Even so, Xavia didn’t respond. It seemed like she was having some kind of nightmare. With that in mind, Zivon simply lifted her in his arms before carrying her back to his office…

It was shortly after when Nathan—who was done sending the documents to the planning department—returned to the office.

Naturally, he was shocked when he saw how pale Xavia looked, and this prompted the worried Nathan to exclaim, “Y-Young Master Burton? What happened? Should I inform Young Master Keith about this? Should I call a doctor?”

“There’s no need for any of that. Just check the CCTV footage of the washroom by the stairs,” ordered Zivon in an icy tone.

…Huh? But… there was another meeting coming up…!

Before Nathan could even talk about the meeting, however, Zivon was already walking toward the lounge… Come to think of it, Young Master Burton always prioritized Xavia over work…

Regardless, even after being brought into the lounge, Xavia continued having her nightmare… In it, Cara had trapped her in a small, dark house that was somehow always frigid… For the longest time, all the terrified Xavia could do was tremble and cry there…

However, that all changed when a gentle and warm spring breeze blew against her. Gradually calming down, Xavia then looked up… and saw that it was Zivon who was seated on the edge of her bed. Just as she was about to fall asleep in her newfound comfort, Zivon seemingly realized that she was actually covered in thorns!

The thorns themselves had been well hidden this entire time, and they were formed by her many traumatic childhood experiences that remained in her heart. Once touched, they’d immediately turn into mud…

Moving back to reality, Nathan eventually returned and said, “I’ve looked through the footage, and apparently Linda’s the culprit. Essentially, Miss Xavia interrupted her… ‘little session’ with Young Master Keith. I’m assuming she did the deed as revenge… How do you want me to handle this?”

…Keith was having a make-out session with Linda? Now armed with this knowledge, a glint appeared in Zivon’s eyes as he walked toward the door while replying, “Since she likes Keith so much, just put her in his office.”

“…But, Young Master Burton, she’s…” muttered Nathan who wanted to remind him that Linda was an outstanding graduate of the University of Advanced Finance who had always been loyal to Young Master Burton.
