“…I’ll let you off tonight…”
Smiling in a gentlemanly manner, Keith simply replied, “Good to hear. The night’s been pretty tiring, so you should get some rest. We have plenty of time tomorrow…”
Following that, Keith began walking out of the room… However, when he passed by Zivon, he was prompted to ask, “Speaking of which, were you looking for Xavia for something, Uncle Zivon?”
Displaying a poker face, Zivon replied, “…I wanted to ask her something regarding Grandma passing out. Feel free to return to your room first.”
“Will do,” said Keith, who knew for a fact why Zivon was really here. Regardless, after Keith left, the room quickly went dead silent.
Feeling rather pressured in Zivon’s tense presence, Xavia took the initiative to say, “About her passing out... I was washing hands in the bathroom when all of a sudden, Lady Burton toppled to the floor close to me. Following that, I sent Young Master Keith a text, detailing what had happened. While waiting, I made sure to pinch her philtrum… Master Keith is aware of everything after that. Needless to say, I had nothing to do with her passing out.”
The girl’s words were decisive and concise, making it clear that she didn’t want any further connections with him other than this. Understanding that, Zivon simply stared at her in silence, his eyes as deep as two frigid pools…
Though Xavia wasn’t able to discern what he was feeling, she was well aware that his gaze was dangerous. Why was he always like this? What was he even doing now?
Feeling slightly afraid, Xavia eventually added, “…It’s getting rather late now… You should return to your room to accompany Maison, Uncle Zivon…”
So, she was driving him away now? Snorting in response, Zivon then scoffed, “I suppose you’re right. Go ahead and tidy up my room for me, then.”
