Sensing the rude undertone in Lily’s words , Xavia opened her mouth to turn her down right away. “I am sorry, Miss Whitman. I have something going on at the office right now. I don’t have time to be there.”
Lily replied, “Is that so? It seems like you don’t really care about Stefan after all.”
Lily’s strange words caused Xavia’s eyebrows to frown. Finally, she asked, “What’s wrong with Chairman Talton? Is there something wrong with him?”
Lily replied coldly, “Wouldn’t you know the answer when you reach here?” With that, she hung up on Xavia.
A bad feeling surged up in Xavia’s heart. After a moment of hesitation, she still decided to go there.
In any case, it was Lily who called her up personally, so there shouldn’t be any problems that might arise later.
Half an hour later, Xavia arrived at Bay View Mansion.
It was a private villa by the sea. The environment there was clean and well-maintained. Dense greenery which created cool shade surrounded the villa, and the air smelled relatively fresh. However, that mansion was enough to indicate that Lily’s living conditions were quite lavish.
''Ding Dong...'' Xavia rang the doorbell.
In less than a minute, Lily came over to get the door for her.
Lily wore a misty blue silk dress, which complemented her tall and voluptuous figure. Her hair was fastened up with a scarf that tied up into the shape of a ribbon. Her image interpreted the temperament and femininity of a lady from a noble family to the fullest. One could tell that she loved to dress up even when she stayed at home.
When she saw Xavia, the corner of her mouth was hooked up sarcastically. “Well, I see you still care quite a bit for him. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come over so quickly.”
Xavia was speechless.
Lily would have mocked her as someone who lacked conscience and didn’t care much about Stefan if she never showed up. If she showed up, this woman would tease her as someone who cared too much about a married man.
So, whatever she did was wrong, right?
In the end, Xavia rebuked, “If you ask me to come over to toy with me, then we have nothing much to say. I’m leaving now.” She turned around and was ready to go.
