As she had suspected, Zivon definitely treated Fiona differently… After all, he hadn’t said a word to her even when Fiona was deliberately targeting her at the bonfire party that night. On the contrary, Zivon had defended Fiona despite the fact that she hadn’t done anything! Regardless, it appeared that she had arrived at an untimely moment…
Noticing the porridge on the ward’s table, Xavia now felt that her own porridge was worthless. Quickly hiding behind the wall, Xavia was just about to leave when she suddenly heard a voice saying, “Ah, Miss Lockhart, there you are! You’ve already made some porridge, I see! Well, go on in!”
Unfortunately for her, she bumped into Nathan who was just returning from the doctor’s office! Since Nathan’s voice had been rather loud, Xavia was certain that the two in the ward would’ve definitely heard it. This, of course, made Xavia extremely embarrassed. Now that they most probably knew that she was here—and figured that she had seen them embracing each other—, what would they think if she didn’t enter the ward?
With that in mind, Xavia quickly replied, “…Of course. Let’s head in together then…”
After Nathan nodded in response, both of them then entered the ward…
Upon seeing the duo enter, the flustered Fiona immediately wiggled out of Zivon’s arms, making sure to wipe the tears off her face as she explained, “M-Miss Lockhart! I… I was simply in a bad mood earlier and Brother Zivon was comforting me…! Please don’t misunderstand, nothing was going on between us…!”
Though Fiona’s words were sincere, the way she presented her explanation made her sound guiltier than anything. Also, she said that nothing was going on between them? As if that’d ever be the case when a grown man and woman hugged! With that in mind, Xavia couldn’t help but smile wryly. It was confirmed, then. Fiona was nothing but a pretentious b*tch!
Even so, this had nothing to do with Xavia. Fiona was Jenna’s problem. With that, Xavia simply replied, “Got it.”
Naturally, this left Fiona utterly confused. Knowing Jenna, that woman would’ve surely slapped or mocked her with cynical remarks by now… Hell, Fiona was actually expecting Jenna to target her to the point where she wouldn’t be able to retort… So… why wasn’t Jenna doing any of that…?
The realization that she had been overthinking things made Fiona feel like an idiot! Quickly regaining her wits, Fiona then said, “…I’m glad you’re being so understanding… Regardless, I see you made porridge for Brother Zivon as well, Miss Lockhart… Unfortunately, I’ve done the same. Since I’ve made medicinal porridge catered to Brother Zivon’s poor stomach conditions, I believe he should eat mine.”
Though she didn’t explicitly say it, it was clear that Fiona was trying her hardest to show that she was more useful to Zivon. Naturally, Xavia got the message, and she couldn’t help but feel that Jenna was rather pitiful.
After all, not only did Jenna have to deal with the inconsiderate Zivon, but she also had to face multiple third parties who kept coveting what she had, leading to them launching attack after attack on her… Xavia was honestly glad that she wasn’t actually Jenna. Otherwise, she’d gladly choose death over all this…
