No matter what it was, Keith coped with ever changing circumstances by holding to his principle and continued eating gracefully and contentedly.
“Jenna, take Grandma for a walk by the Twire Lake today,” Ava said.
Ava would always yearn for the outside world every day when the sun appeared.
Xavia tightened her hand that was holding the fork slightly as she said with a smile, “Grandma, I’d like to accompany you too but I already promised Zivon last night that I’ll go to the company to help him with the company affairs. There has been more work at the company recently, so I’m afraid that I won’t be able to accompany you.”
Keith knew that she was lying but he did not mind giving her a hand.
After all, the more pretence Uncle Zivon and this fake Jenna put up, the more sins would unravel in the future.
He said jokingly, “Grandma, Uncle Zivon and Aunt-in-law have just reconciled and their feelings are deepening at this moment. Besides that, my father has temporarily been removed from his position at the company and many of the company’s affairs would fall into Uncle Zivon’s hands now. So, don’t make things difficult for Uncle Zivon and Aunt-in-law.
“I happen to be free today. So, I can accompany Grandma for a walk.”
Ava naturally hoped that the both of them could get along more often. Since someone else could keep her company today, she said with a smile, “Okay, okay. I won’t get in the lovebirds’ way then.”
Xavia was embarrassed. How could she and Zivon be considered lovebirds? They were more like enemies instead.
She said, “Grandma, I’ll definitely accompany you after these few busy days.” Anyway, it would be Jenna at that time and she would certainly be happy to please the old lady.
The thoughtful Zivon had a slightly deep look in his eyes as he looked at Keith sitting across the room.
After the meal, Zivon left the old mansion with Xavia. After getting into the car, Zivon said, “You have to handle yourself cautiously in the next few days. If Keith ever asks you anything, avoid those questions that you can’t answer right away.”
Xavia frowned. “Huh? Why? He even spoke up on our behalf just now. Isn’t he quite good? He was indeed the one who saved me the last time.”
There was gratitude in her small voice.
Zivon snorted coldly. “That trivial matter can make you lose your mind completely. You’re really stupid.”
He had done all those things for her, but why had she never said that he was good even once?
Xavia balled her small hands into fists.
In her opinion, Keith trusted her and helped her, thus better than Zivon. Zivon was the stupidest person. Zivon’s wife had been cuckolding him for an unknown period of time, but he was still completely in the dark about it.
Zivon continued, “His father was punished last night, so it’s impossible for him to smile at us today no matter how good his character is. Besides, his character is that of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. There must be something fishy within it.
