...Alas, it wasn’t long before her heels snapped! To make things worse, it even began raining! To think that even the gods were mocking her!
Following a heavy sigh and knowing that Neal wasn’t coming to her aid anytime soon, she decided to make a call for help… But to her dismay, she realized that she had left her phone in Neal’s car! With no other options left, all Luna could do was activate her safety bracelet to send a distress signal to Lea…
Fast forward to about half an hour later, Lea arrived at the scene with a few bodyguards… and when she saw the wretched state that Luna was in, she couldn’t help but purse her lips…
Once the guards had managed to carry Luna down the hill, Lea waited till they were on the ride back home before finally grumbling, “…Do you really have to humiliate yourself so much for that man? Have you not seen what happened to Fabiola?”
“Doesn’t matter. My only goal is to conquer his heart, and I refuse to believe that I can’t do that!” scoffed Luna as she leaned against her seat, leaving Lea slightly speechless.
“…We both know you’re only going to get hurt in the end,” muttered Lea, prompting Luna to squint. Before she could reply, however, Lea’s phone suddenly rang… It was a call from Clive Fletcher, one of Luna’s many suitors…
“…He’s probably calling because he couldn’t reach you… Hold on. …Yes, Mr. Fletcher? How can I help you?”
“Ah, I was just wondering if you knew where Luna is… I haven’t been able to contact her in days, and I’m getting a little worried…”
“No worries, she’s right beside me… Would you like me to pass the phone to her-”
“I’m in no mood to chat,” interrupted Luna.
