With how much work Hanley had on his plate, he ended up staying busy for two entire days… and when he finally returned, exhausted, he was surprised to see Fabiola’s room empty.
“…Where is she?”
Upon hearing that, the butler respectfully replied, “Ah, she left on the day you returned, and she hasn’t returned since.”
Frowning slightly, Hanley then stared at the gift that he had got for her for a while before eventually figuring that he may as well hand it to her personally. With that, he set off to find her… However, when he finally arrived at her villa, his gaze instantly darkened. After all, she was standing before Neal again!
With how close the two were, they almost looked like a couple… and after clenching his fists, he drove off without another word.
If only he had stayed a bit longer, he would’ve surely heard Fabiola ask, “…Why are you here? Didn’t we agree not to meet yet.”
Though he knew that she needed time to process things, Neal took a deep breath before replying, “…I’ve given you enough time to make a decision. Are we going to start dating or do we jump straight to marriage?”
…Even though that had literally been her life’s dream up till some time ago, she could no longer be with him now that she was married to Hanley! With that in mind, she pursed her lips before replying, “…Sorry, but things won’t work between us anymore.”
“…Why not? If it’s a problem I have, then tell me straight to my face so that we can solve it. Together.”
…Somehow, the more he cared for her, the more irritated she felt… and in the end, she simply said, “…I just want to be alone, so stop bothering me!”
After saying that, she marched past him, and though he initially wanted to give chase, he ultimately refrained. He knew her well enough to know that forcing her to do anything she didn’t want to was a bad idea, so all he could do was return to his car, dejected…
