Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 288

‘Extricate’ she said… What a strong word…

Furrowing his brows slightly, Zivon then asked in a slightly angered tone, “…So you’re saying that your current situation is making you suffer?”

Why else would she use that word? Staring straight into his eyes, Xavia simply replied, “I hope you remember that I’m only holding onto my sister’s title for the moment. If you haven’t realized, I’ve been forced to do things I don’t wish to this entire time, Young Master Burton. With that said, what makes you think I’d enjoy any of this? I’m honestly praying, even in my sleep, for Jenna to wake up as soon as possible by this point…”

Zivon was understandably displeased to hear that. After all, any other woman—in her situation—would’ve surely prayed for Jenna to remain unconscious for much longer! Why was she so keen on resisting him?!

“…Even if you’re unwilling to do all this, I hope you remember that you’re the one who brought all this trouble to yourself. With that said, you’re not exactly a victim here. Also, feel free to declare the truth if you can afford to bear the consequences. If you can’t, then just behave and refrain from making any more mistakes,” retorted Zivon in a stern tone.

He… He was blaming her for stepping onto the wedding stage? Was she actually being reprimanded because something happened between Keith and her after she quarreled with him that night?! Clenching her fists, Xavia then said, “Oh, I’m fully aware that I brought all this upon myself. Still, had I known that things would end up like this, I would’ve never even stepped into the wedding scene!”

“Regardless, don’t you worry. I’m an expert at acting, so I’ll continue putting this façade on till Jenna wakes up. Once that finally happens, I’ll gladly withdraw from this pitiful and ridiculous game. Now then, please don’t let me continue ruining your perfect life, Young Master Burton.”

Before Zivon could reply, she had already grabbed her bag before striding out of the villa…

Zivon himself was fuming mad by this point. Nobody had ever dared to speak to him in such a tone! What more, he had only proceeded with the wedding back then to protect her! Was this the kind of attitude he deserved in return?! Had he known that this would happen, he would’ve just left her at the wedding, uncaring of her fate…!

Shortly after, Xavia found herself seated in a taxi. Honestly, just watching people walk up and down the streets was enough to bring discomfort to her. After all, though everyone else had their own lives, she was nothing but Jenna’s captive and substitute…

While Xavia had never expected Zivon to treat her well in their cooperation, what right did he have to continuously blame and manipulate her? Xavia’s train of thought was cut short when her phone began ringing.
