“Regardless, after obtaining all that power, he immediately took the chance to propose to Bianca. While it may have seemed like he was torturing her, the truth was, he was actually torturing himself. What more, Bianca was the one who suggested the divorce, claiming that she had enough of him. It was the only reason why he set her free back then…”
“Either way, though the divorce felt liberating at the start, when he eventually saw Bianca with some other man, his heart was fully pierced. With all that said, I honestly think that without Bianca in his life, Chace will never feel whole again. You know, I even heard from Chace’s butler that he often drinks alone these days, and he needs sleeping pills just to get sufficient rest… While you may think I’m exaggerating, if you were there when he told us his story, you would’ve felt equally saddened…” explained Zayne.
Truth be told, even Xavia was having a heavy heart after hearing all that. To think that the ruthless Chace would have such a caring side to him underneath all that coldness…
Thinking back, she and Dolly had read a novel with a similar plotline, and Xavia remembered bursting into tears after finishing the book. It truly was an upsetting experience... Still, what was the name of that novel again? She couldn’t quite remember, so she made a mental note to ask Dolly about it later.
Whatever the case was, Xavia then replied, “…I have an idea, but I need to think it through first. I’ll get back to you tomorrow.”
Upon hearing that, Zayne’s eyes instantly lit up as he exclaimed, “…Really? That’s great! I really hope your idea works. Zivon’s previous suggestion just made things worse for him…”
Zayne’s statement prompted Xavia to look at Zivon who had remained silent this entire time. Though she didn’t really want to talk about him, her curiosity got the better of her, leading her to ask, “…What exactly did he suggest?”
“Well… Zivon told Chace to chase the young man out of Darlsbury, his reasoning being that Bianca would surely return to Chace’s side after that since she would have nobody else to fall back on. Long story short, the idea failed and Chace simply ended up with a tight slap from Bianca…”
Upon hearing that, Xavia had to actively prevent herself from laughing. What a stupid approach… It was clear as day that only a straightforward man like Zivon would be able to come up with such a plan. The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to laugh, so Xavia ended up having to cover her mouth…
Zivon himself simply continued staring at Xavia. He had noticed that she had occasionally frowned as she was listening to Zayne’s summary. After all that, to think that she was now trying to hold back from laughing…
He had never seen her eyes this clear and vivid back at home. Compared to that indifferent version of her—who had told him that they had nothing to do with each other—, the Xavia currently before him felt like a completely different person. It was honestly slightly difficult for him to even avert his gaze from her…
