“Miss Lockhart told me to look into this matter sometime back, young master, and this is a photo from that night… It should be noted that the surveillance camera ended up damaged, resulting in a portion—in the middle—unable to be repaired. Regardless, madam and I have reviewed the footage countless times, and in the end, we discovered that there was an unidentified man in black present on the second floor that night. This photo just so happened to be taken by one of the personnel, and we have a feeling that the incident is related to him…”
Upon hearing that, Zivon turned to look at the photo… True enough, there was a man with a cap dressed fully in black in the photo. Though his face couldn’t be seen clearly, it was pretty obvious that this was the man’s goal. After all, who in the right mind would dress like this for a birthday banquet?
As he thought about it, Zivon recalled Xavia stating, ‘That man almost humiliated me.’
There was a pretty good chance that this was their man. With that in mind, Zivon then kept the photo before saying, “I’ll look deeper into the matter in a bit.”
Sensing how cold and indifferent Zivon’s attitude was, Mrs. Lockhart simply replied in a disdainful tone, “I know how much you dislike Xavia, and I have to say that I share the sentiment. Regardless, remember that she is simply taking Jenna’s place for the moment, and that this matter is merely a misunderstanding. With that said, please bear with her in the meantime. Just so you know, the doctor has already said that Jenna may be waking any day now. The second that happens, let’s kick Xavia out!”
Momentarily remaining silent, Zivon eventually said in a frigid tone, “Whatever the case is, I still have some personal matters to attend to so I won’t be keeping you.”
Following that, Zivon turned around and headed back into his villa. As he ascended the stairs, he turned to look at the photo in his hand again… and eventually, he shifted directions and began walking toward Xavia’s room instead…
Once he was there, he stood by her door before saying, “Open up. There’s something we need to talk about.”
In response, however, all he got was an unenthusiastic reply, stating, “What is it…?”
Hearing that, Zivon needed a moment to calm his nerves. No woman had ever talked to him with such sass…! Not wanting to play her games any longer, he simply pushed her door open… only to be greeted by the sight of several white veils hung on the walls.
Though the veils alone were already aesthetically beautiful, they weren’t the most eye-catching thing in the room. That honor was reserved for the white-masked woman—fully dressed in traditional garments—seated before a computer. She appeared to be making some sort of handicraft using tools he was unfamiliar with… Nevertheless, he couldn’t help but admit that her prim posture and magnificent temperament made her look almost otherworldly… Was… Was this really Xavia…?
“…What on earth are you doing?” demanded the surprised Zivon once he finally snapped out of it.
