His question was straightforward, to say the least, and Xavia was momentarily left too flabbergasted to even reply.
Assuming that her silence meant that she was rejecting him, Zivon couldn’t help but lower his gaze as he added, “…Don’t you want to at least give me a chance to make up for my sins? To both you and the kids? I… I really don’t like how we currently are, Xav…”
Pursing her lips, Xavia replied, “…As if I don’t feel the same… I want the kids to be part of a loving family too, but since things have come to this, what am I even expected to do? Are you saying that I should just disregard everything that happened and simply forgive you? Do you genuinely think I’m that easy to buy back after all the hurtful things that you’ve done?!”
“What you’ve done is not easily forgivable, Von. It hurt to learn that the person I loved most only viewed me as a slut and even attempted to force himself into me before an outsider… What’s more, you were so delusional with jealousy and rage that you didn’t even notice how injured I was back then…”
“Think about it this way. If I forgive you now, things will only be sure to escalate in the near future. What’s the point in returning to your side if the future is already set in stone? It’s an exhausting thought, and I refuse to continue being part of that cycle… That is, until we can find the core issue and deal with it…” concluded Xavia as she let out all the thoughts that she had been keeping inside her all this time.
