Staring at the ceiling from his bed, he thought about how he had attempted to rape her back on the boat… How humiliating that must have felt for her… That wasn’t the only time that he had forced himself upon her either. Really, what right did he have to be her husband when he was so terrible? Maybe leaving him really was the best choice she could’ve made…
Drinking another glass of wine, the devastated man continued staring at the ceiling… and the next thing he knew, it was already dawn. Just when he was finally able to close his eyes, however, he heard a familiar voice say, “That banquet was truly surprising, you know?”
Looking up, he couldn’t help but squint when he saw who it was… It was his junior back in university, Rosa Moore.
Before the frowning man could reply, Nathan quickly added, “Miss Moore wanted to congratulate you at the banquet, you see, but since her flight was delayed, she was only able to come over now…”
Chuckling in response, Rosa replied, “What? I need to make an appointment just to meet my senior now?”
Slowly sitting up, Zivon then said, “No, though I’m in a foul mood and I don’t want to be a bad host.”
Smiling at him, Rosa then walked up to him and said, “Regardless, I’ve known you for the longest time, and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t believe that you’d work yourself to death… However, now that I’m seeing you in such a pitiful state, it makes me a little envious of the woman who managed to fill you with so much emotion… You two truly have the greatest love on the planet…”
…Hah. As if… If anyone, Mark probably deserved that title… He didn’t deserve her, and it was probably for the best that she had left him…
His train of thought was cut short when Nathan’s phone began buzzing… and shortly after, Nathan’s eyes widened as he exclaimed, “M-Mark has been located…!”
