Just as she had completed her martial arts class one day, she suddenly received a call from an unknown number… and upon picking up, a familiar voice was quick to say, “Xavia? This is Lily. Could you come over? Stefan… He’s dying!”

“…Wait, what? What do you mean he’s dying?” replied the understandably shocked Xavia.

Following some sniffles, the sobbing Lily muttered, “He’s… honestly been sick for a long time now… He’s tried everything he could to get better, to no avail… Also, he forbade us from telling you, which is why we kept you in the dark for so long… Remember when he met you shortly after you got married…? He just did that to reassure you that he was doing fine, but I can safely say that his health was already in shambles back then…”

“Really, had it not been for Mark’s help back then, Stefan would be dead by now… Regardless, he doesn’t have much time left, and since he’s always treated you so well, could you please come visit him one final time…?”

Alas, instead of a reply, all Lily heard was a thud of a falling phone…
