“I’m also doing it because Lana still has a crush on you. Now, before you find that unreasonable, allow me to remind you that you’re an exceptional man whom she’s worked together with for years… It’s perfectly normal for her to fall for you, but at the same time, she always knew better than to actually follow her heart. It’s why she quit the job. Alas, not even that could completely cut you out of her life.”
“After all, my presence meant that she would eventually always learn more about you. With that in mind, I’m planning to go abroad with her just to finally help her feelings settle down. I know you don’t love her, but since she’s worked with you for so long, I’m sure you’d agree that you don’t want her to live the rest of her life in misery… Please understand her situation, and in exchange, I promise to return to my post once she’s feeling better…”
…Come to think of it, Jenna had brought this up before, but… Damn it, to think that he needed to deal with this again…
Rubbing his temple, Ian then sighed before saying, “…Six months. It’s a six-month vacation, and you better come back after that, you hear?!”
Following another sigh, he then hung up and turned around… only to realize that Tiffany was standing right behind him! Squinting slightly, Ian growled, “…Don’t sneak up on me again. Also, you’ll only be by my side for the next six months. However, if you do your job properly, I’m willing to transfer you to a new position once your contract is over. Oh, and one last thing. Do not develop feelings for me.”
Watching as Ian stormed off, Tiffany couldn’t help but go speechless. Wasn’t Sir Ian supposed to have a pleasant personality? What was with this sudden switch?!
Moving back to Xavia, it was only three days later when she finally woke up again… and shortly after a nurse removed her painkiller, she started feeling a dull pain all over her body again.
Upon hearing that, her doctor instructed her to start engaging in light activities again to aid with her recovery. Knowing that, Xavia agreed and attempted to head to the bathroom… but in the end, it took a considerable amount of effort just for her to get out of bed.
Seeing that, many of the nurses attempted to help her, and though Xavia felt embarrassed, she knew better than to decline in her current state. To her surprise, however, it was only a single step later when Zivon entered the room and said, “You can all leave. Just leave it to me.”
