“Remember how you went against all odds just to make Xavia fall for you? What happened to that drive…? Now that you’ve gone and done all this, how sure are you that she’ll forgive you when you finally find that drive again…?”
“Maybe it’ll take years to gain her forgiveness, but by then, Xavia would’ve already given birth and raised the new twins all by herself again. In other words, she would’ve done all the hard work alone again. Would you even be qualified to call yourself a good father by that point…?” concluded Jenna, leaving Zivon momentarily speechless. After all, some of the things she said were pretty hard to refute…
“…So, after learning more about yourself, you’ve learned how to properly analyze others as well?”
“High praise coming from you. Jokes aside, I simply don’t want you to end things with Xavia. After all, you two have gone through so much. She deserves a happy ending just as much as you do.”
Though Zivon didn’t answer, Jenna could see the documents in his hand trembling slightly… and after a short pause, she was prompted to add, “…Again, don’t wait till it’s too late. Then again, you may have already done irreversible damage… Just try your luck by giving her a call, I guess. That’s all I have to say. Good luck, and goodbye.”
After she left, the room fell silent again… and though Zivon tried his best not to think about Jenna’s words, he eventually lowered his documents about half an hour later. Damn it…
Grabbing his phone, he sent Xavia a text, stating, ‘I’ll get Nathan to arrange for your upcoming maternity check-up.’
No reply.
‘…Did you arrive home safely last night?’
