To her dismay, however, he ended up bringing her to Logos Bookstore!
This was the largest bookstore in Darlsbury, and with ten thousand square meters to its name, it made sense why the massive building had widely varying themed areas. Honestly, the grandeur of this place made it seem more ideal to hang out in rather than just read! Alas, the fact remained that books were everywhere, and Xavia wasn’t exactly one who enjoyed reading!
“…Are you sure this is the best place to help with my boredom…?” muttered the clearly displeased Xavia.
“Look, you’re pregnant… It would be improper to bring you to tourist-infested areas or malls. After all, what if someone accidentally bumped into you? Bookshops are naturally quiet, and since it’s a Monday, there will be even fewer people around to accidentally hurt you. That aside, I’m hoping to get some books that will help with parenting. After all, this will technically be my first time properly parenting a child…”
At first, Xavia had assumed that he brought her over because he was an old fart. Now that she knew his reasoning, however… She realized just how mature and attentive this man was. Feeling her heart skip a beat, she was quick to say, “…I-I see… Well, let’s hurry in, then!”
Nodding in response, Zivon then led her to the area designated for pregnant women. Once they were there, he pulled a stool out for her before saying, “You can sit here as I fetch you some food and books.”
After Zivon had walked off, Xavia began taking in her surroundings…
This area was covered with orange décor, which made it feel much warmer and cozier compared to the other areas… There were even paintings of dancing silhouettes everywhere, and though they were beautiful, Xavia couldn’t help but feel self-conscious about her own curves… She had barely worked out recently, and she figured that it was probably time she picked up yoga once she got home.
Her train of thought was cut short when a waitress walked over to her and said, “Mrs. Burton, correct? Your husband told us to bring these desserts over, and if you ever want more, feel free to tell us.”
Looking at the tray that the woman was carrying, Xavia’s eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw just how many exquisite desserts Zivon had ordered for her!
Gulping slightly, Xavia replied, “…Um… This is more than enough… Thank you…”
