Alas, Xavia didn’t seem to be able to hear him anymore. Unbeknownst to Zivon, her mind was currently bombarding her with hazy images of Leo and that crazy man torturing her… and in the end, all she could do was cover her ears in fear.

With how pitiful she looked, all Zivon could do was sigh before gently embracing her in his arms… Damn it all… If he had known how traumatized she truly was, then he wouldn’t have allowed Leo, that man, and Whitney to die that easily…! God, how he regretted not torturing them for much longer…!

Either way, it was about two hours later when Zivon was finally able to put Xavia to sleep. Throughout that period, he hadn’t moved an inch, and his legs were starting to feel cramped. Even so, he wasn’t about to complain. Gently lifting her up, he then placed her on the bed before covering her with the sheets. Once that was done, he stayed by her side throughout the night…

When morning finally came, Xavia awoke to the sight of the perfect man lying right next to her, his eyes closed… His hands felt rather cold, and he still had that towel on from last night… What on earth had he been thinking?

Before she could call him up, she suddenly recalled what had happened before her mind stopped functioning… and upon realizing that he had cared so much about her comfort that he didn’t even bother getting a change of clothes, Xavia couldn’t help but feel slightly moved.

After a short pause, she attempted to cover his body up a little… but that subtle movement alone was enough to wake him up.

“Good morning, Xav… How did you sleep…?”

Despite how raspy his early morning voice was, she could sense the worry in his tone… And after a while, she was prompted to reply, “…I slept fine… I don’t think the same applies to you, though… Now go get more rest-”
