Pulling her hand away, Xavia replied, “…I dislike being lied to. Also, from the moment I returned to the Frankstons’ side, we could’ve already begun fighting back had you told us about all this then. Alas, you simply continued deceiving me. Lying that the children were yours. You know, I almost aborted them for real thanks to my mother and Brother’s persuasions… Anyway, I can’t bring myself to hate you, but I can’t forgive you either.”
Following that, she turned to look at Ian before saying, “…Brother. Since he did save my life and cure me in the past four months, could you please be less harsh on him…? And just… take him someplace else where he can survive…”
Naturally, Ian knew that Zivon wouldn’t just allow for that, but… With how sincere Xavia was being, all he could do was sigh before muttering, “…Fine. I’ll take him to some remote village where he can continue living as a village doctor…”
With how hurt Xavia looked, Cade knew better than to continue begging for forgiveness. Instead, he simply clenched his fists before saying, “…I’m sorry, Xavia… I’ve truly let you down… Don’t worry, I’ll remain in the countryside forevermore, and I’ll never appear before you again… Also… Remember how I said that Whitney’s antidote is the reason your amnesia isn’t going away…?”
“Well… if you don’t take the drug for around seven days, then you’ll slowly start regaining your memories… With that said, take care…” concluded Cade as he followed the guards out, leaving Xavia momentarily stunned.
…So he was telling the truth when he said that he really didn’t want to hurt her… That aside, it seemed that everything was finally over… With the villainess taken down, her children safe, and Zivon safe and sound, it seemed that things were finally taking a turn for the better…
Her train of thought was cut short when Ian patted her head while saying, “Don’t worry, he’s been a village boy for a long time, so returning to another village shouldn’t be too much of a hassle for him… As for what he said about your memory… I’ll have Zivon run a proper examination on your body once he recovers.”
