Homer was a person who always prioritized peace, especially when it came to bigshots like Zivon who had immense power and influence! With that in mind, Homer was quick to give Ian a raised brow as he replied, “Ian, what’s with that tone?”
“Don’t worry about it, sir. In fact, feel free to call me by name as well, Sir,” said Zivon, instantly leaving Homer speechless.
It took him a while, but Ian eventually led Zivon to his study… and once they were alone, he was prompted to say, “What’s your goal? Hmm? Do you really think a present and some nice words are enough for me to forgive you? Apologies, but I’m not as naïve as Xavia, and if there’s nothing else, please take your gift and leave.”
Naturally, Zivon was irked to hear that. After all, he had humbled himself just for Xavia’s sake! Alas, he was her brother, and Zivon couldn’t do anything to change that. What’s more, he didn’t want to put Xavia between a rock and a hard place because of their conflict.
With that, he took a deep breath before replying, “…Look, I know you’re doing this for Xav’s sake. True, I may not be the best person in your book, but on a serious note, have you ever seen me fall for any other woman in the many years that you’ve known me? I truly wish to marry and be responsible for her.”
Sneering in response, Ian scoffed, “Even if that’s the case, you still care about your ex. How else could you have slept with her? What’s more, though your father’s actions had nothing to do with you, I want her to be married into a harmonious family! You, of all people, should know that we don’t deserve to be in-laws with your family anyway.”
Before Zivon could reply, Ian handed him a sheet of paper while adding, “Here, have a look at what your father signed. You know I don’t like forcing others to do things, but since he wanted me to do this so much, I have no choice but to oblige.”
Raising a slight brow, Zivon gave the pledge a read… and by the time he was done, he couldn’t help but squint. His father had apparently signed a pledge that swore that Zivon wouldn’t have any further relationships with Xavia, and that he had to give up custody of the kids as well…!
