...No matter. He’d simply find a proper stepfather for them, and if one couldn’t be found, he could simply take up that mantle!
Either way, Xavia spent the next three days staying at Ian’s place, mostly spending her time playing with the kids. Funnily enough, it was also the first time she had experienced playing with many of the toys, given her terrible childhood. Regardless, since she finally had some room to breathe, she was able to get the time that she needed to think about Zivon…
Zivon himself had remained stressed in the past three days. After all, his mother had apparently contracted severe anemia, and she even had brain embolism, which explained why she felt so weak. With that in mind, he stayed by her side pretty much the entire time, only leaving for brief moments for toilet breaks.
“…You really should get some rest, Zivon…” muttered the concerned Whitney.
Upon hearing that, his mother, who had just woken up, nodded before adding, “Indeed… Don’t worry, the doctors already said that my condition has stabilized… At the very least, get a night’s rest back at home… Otherwise, you’ll be falling ill soon too…”
“I’m not that weak, Mom… If it worries you that much, then I’ll catch a nap on one of the hospital beds once you’re asleep.”
Shaking her head, Wendy replied, “As if I could relax knowing how exhausted you are… That aside, Xavia hasn’t visited in three whole days… Are you sure that you don’t want to check on her…? Sure, I’m a little unhappy that there’s been zero word about her, but since you two have been together for so long, I believe that she isn’t the kind of person the media is portraying her to be…”
Upon the mention of Xavia, Zivon paused for a moment… and after some thought, he finally sighed before saying, “…Alright, I’ll head back for a bit… I’ll be back before you head to bed.”
With that, he turned to leave, prompting Whitney to frown slightly. Quickly catching up to him, she was quick to ask, “Since you’re probably exhausted, why don’t I drive you home…?”
