“Well, the doctor said that he could be transferred to the ward earlier, so yes, he’s currently out of the woods… That aside… Please don’t be mad at him anymore, Miss Lockhart… He truly loves you wholeheartedly…” muttered Nathan.
…Him? Wholehearted? Xavia was about to give Nathan a piece of her mind when a fair woman wearing a white down jacket walked up to the two and said, “Miss Lockhart, correct? Pleasure to meet you, I’m Whitney Baun. I heard that you’re mad because of a misunderstanding that I’m having an affair with Brother Zivon, but… That really isn’t the case. I just returned to Aplos because of my deteriorating health, and he only came to me to get me a good doctor.”
“I can safely say that he truly cares for you, otherwise he wouldn’t have suffered that heart attack while waiting for you in the freezing cold last night… Just… calm down for now…”
…Was she explaining the situation or trying to paint her as the villain? Despite looking so adorable and innocent, Whitney was clearly as vile as they came, huh? Before Xavia could retort, she noticed that Wendy’s expression had already grown sour…
While it was true that Wendy liked Xavia, the fact remained that Xavia had made her son wait in the freezing cold over such a trivial matter. Understandably disappointed, the old woman then headed into Zivon’s ward without another word.
Realizing that Whitney had achieved her goal, Xavia clenched her fist before glaring at the ‘innocent’ woman and scoffing, “Nothing between you two, huh? So why was there a lipstick mark on his collar back then? And why did you get involved with a married man? Look, I’ve seen my fair share of vile women, and I can safely say that you’re the vilest kind! The type who acts innocent despite being rotten to the core!”
Whitney, for one, had assumed that Xavia was easily bullied… To think that she was this rude instead! In the end, she was prompted to reply, “W-why would you say such horrid things…?”
“…Hey, are you seriously acting like I’m the bad person here? When you’re the one who hooked up with my fiancé? Listen, you. Don’t ever show up before him again or I’ll be sure to beat you up every time you do…!” growled Xavia before entering the ward.
