“Nobody but him could’ve told you two apart, and thank God he was quick to act too. Otherwise, you’d be dead by now!”
“…H-huh? Jenna’s already dead?” replied the shocked Xavia as she sat up.
“Yup. I’m sure her corpse was frozen solid before it was collected, but hey, she had it coming,” said Zayne with a sigh, causing Xavia to go pale.
She was dead… So, was the nightmare finally over? She had managed to escape death and avenge Aunt Dana and her grandmother?
Despite the victory, Xavia didn’t feel all that pleased. At the end of the day, they were related by blood, and with how things had gone, she would’ve preferred if Jenna was never born. That way, all this chaos would’ve never conspired…
Either way, Xavia’s injuries were so severe that she found it hard to even get out of bed. She also found herself wondering whether Zivon had chosen to send her here instead of the villa since he didn’t want the kids to get too worried about her…
Eventually, however, she couldn’t help but ask, “…Say… Where’s Von? I’d like to meet him…”
Shaking his head, Zayne replied, “He told me that he was going to deal with Jenna’s matters, so it’s odd that he hasn’t returned yet… Maybe I should give him a call?”
Not wanting to bother Zivon, Xavia said, “N-no, it’s fine… That aside, my injuries aren’t that bad, so you can leave for now… I need to take a bath too…”
She, for one, hadn’t been able to clean herself in the past few days in prison, so she was currently feeling rather uncomfortable. Zayne could tell, so he simply nodded and replied, “Got it. Be sure to contact me if you need anything, alright?”
“Will do,” said Xavia as she watched Zayne leave.
