Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 1653

Following that thought, she gave her lawyer a call…

“Hello? Any news from the court?”

“Well, we’ve pushed the trial date as you asked us to, and after some poking around, I’ve found that she will be receiving the death penalty soon.”

“That’s great to hear! Speaking of which, I remember asking you to try disallowing the prisoner from participating in the trial. How did that go? By this point, is there really any reason to still allow Jenna to argue in court?” replied Jenna with a smile.

In response, the lawyer replied, “Since Young Master Burton told us to follow whatever you requested, we’ve managed to settle this as well.”

“Thank you,” said Jenna with a sinister smirk before hanging up. Xavia was most probably waiting for her chance to speak up during the trial… Hah! She could just dream on!

True to what Jenna assumed, Xavia had been waiting for that exact moment. After all, if she could defend herself at the court, then she had no doubt that Maison, Yulia, and Zivon would recognize her!

To her utmost horror, however, a guard soon walked up to her and said, “Congratulations, Jenna. Your execution will be held at eight tomorrow morning! Enjoy your last day alive.”

Going pale when she heard that, the gagged woman immediately tried her hardest to explain herself… but in the end, only muffled sounds escaped her mouth. Since it was her last day anyway, the guard ungagged her while saying, “What is it? Look, it’s too late to apologize by this point, just be a better person in your next life-”

“W-wait! I’ve yet to undergo my trial! Why am I being sentenced to death before that?!”

“Oh. Well, since you’ve done so much evil and we have the evidence for it, there really isn’t a need for a trail. Just so you know, Miss Lockhart made sure that you didn’t have a chance to go to court again. That way, you wouldn’t be able to bluff your way out!”
