“It’s not like that. It’s just… While I did love Maison before, I just feel the need to go the extra mile now that I know that you’re their mother…”
Upon hearing that, Xavia’s heart rate instantly skyrocketed. Was he seriously saying such things when they hadn’t even cleared up their past mishap yet…? It took her a while, but she eventually asked, “…Aren’t you mad at all…?”
Her question prompted Zivon’s gaze to darken a little. How could he be angry? After all, he was the reason that she and Yulia had suffered so much in the first place. With that in mind, he patted her on the head before muttering, “…No need to bring that up anymore. Don’t worry, I’ll be responsible for you and our children from now on…”
He’d make sure to make up for all that lost time by doing his best for them from here on out. Shaking his head, he then walked off to wash some fruits, leaving Xavia with a slight frown.
…Why did it seem like he had something else to say…? He had specifically mentioned his responsibility… Could it be that he hadn’t actually forgiven her? Was he only being nice to fulfill a husband’s duty? The same way… he used to treat Jenna?! It was a horrendous thought.
Alas, before she was even able to say a thing, the kids came running up to them while exclaiming, “Mommy! Daddy!”
Clinging onto Xavia’s thigh, Maison happily added, “I’m so happy that you’re my real mommy, Mommy!”
Yulia herself was already hugging Zivon’s thigh, and she was quick to say, “While I’m still a little mad at you, I’ll forgive you since you saved brother and I! However, you must be sure to treat Mommy nicely from now on, understand?”
Chuckling in response, Zivon then lifted her in his arms while replying, “Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to spoil both of you for the rest of my life.”
Overjoyed to hear that, Yulia then gave him a kiss on the cheek before exclaiming, “That’s great! I love you so much, Daddy!”
