The gathering itself was held at a breath-taking castle, and all around them were expensive-looking vases filled with plants. As for the guests, they all looked utterly charming as they walked past tables brimming with exquisite wines. Aside from the wine, there were also several chefs cooking live, with several dishes such as steaks and foie gras already on the table. This was truly the textbook image of a wealthy party…
Xavia, however, simply had a black, knee-length dress on, her hair casually let down without even any makeup on her face. Compared to the rest of them there, her choice of clothing made her feel like a peasant, to say the least! Well, that would’ve happened if she wasn’t such a natural beauty. In fact, her beauty was so overpowering that she made the rest seem like they were trying too hard!
Regardless, upon seeing her, Fiona actively fought the urge to clench her fists. Once she had calmed down a little, she forced on a smile and walked over while saying, “Welcome to my castle, you two! Allow me to introduce you to Zivon’s ex-classmates and business-mates. We’re all very old friends, you see. Regardless, that’s Ruby Bennett, the young lady of the Bennett Group. As for that fancy lad over there, he’s Samuel Hayes, the Hayes Group’s heir…”
Though introducing those people to her wasn’t inherently wrong… Xavia knew that Fiona was simply trying to show how intimate she was with Zivon since she knew all his childhood friends. In a way, it was almost as though Fiona was doing her best to make Xavia feel like an outsider.
Unfazed by Fiona’s efforts, Xavia simply smiled as she replied, “A pleasure to meet you all. I’m Xavia Lockhart, Von’s girlfriend. I hope we can get along well from today onward.”
Realizing that she had asserted her dominance, the rest smiled back and said, “What an affectionate nickname you’ve given him!”
“Yeah! Then again, we’ve been keeping an eye on the news about you two, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, you two just seem so lovey-dovey!”
