Shaking her head, she then walked up to them before saying in a polite tone, “What brings you two here? If it’s nothing important, then please leave. I’m busy.”

Upon hearing that, Cara was quick to scurry over and say, “Hey now, you can’t behave that coldly toward your parents! I’m sure they simply came over to check on you after hearing about you and Young Master Burton! See? They’ve even brought several presents over! Please don’t be mad, Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart! Go have a nice chat with Xavia as I get some snacks over!”

Watching as Cara hurried off, Xavia couldn’t help but smirk when she saw all the gift boxes that the two had brought over. Sure enough, now her relationship had been made public, their attitude toward her had taken a one-eighty.

Before she could say a word, however, Mrs. Lockhart stepped forward and said, “I’m glad you’re with Young Master Burton now, Xavia. While it’s true we weren’t the best parents in the past, we hope that you’ll still accept our blessings now. Putting that aside, some of the gits include expensive birds’ nests and collagens. Those are great for your skin, you know?”

Francis himself added, “Be sure to take them. It’s important for women to preserve their looks, after all.”
